Anagen Effluvium is another type of hair loss that is considered to be as complicated, but slightly different when compared with the other types. Rather than the actual shedding of hair from the scalp, it is lost though the breakage of the hair shafts, just at the level of the scalp. The most common causes of anagen effluvium is chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

It is very difficult for hair regrowth to begin with this type of hair loss. The effect it produces is damage on the vital parts of the hair growing activity in the shaft. Cell division is stopped in this case, and results to weak hair which is susceptible to breakage and fracture, even withminimal trauma.
