Hair Growth and Hair Color
Yes, in average, the human hair grows about 100,000 hair follicles. Each follicle can grow twenty individual hairs in a person’s lifetime, and lose 100 strands a day. In average that is. But are there noticeable differences between hair volume, and different hair colors?
Noticeable difference can be considered a myth, depending on the comparison. In fact, different hair color is a precursor for hair volume. Red heads have an average of 86,000 strands, brunettes, 100.000 strands, while women with black hair have 110,000 strands, while blonds have almost twice as much hair as the red heads, an average of 146,000. Diameter is also significant to add in to the volume. Blondes have thinner hair, which equates only to 17-51 micrometers. Black hair tend to be thicker, with 64-100 micrometers. The brunettes and the red heads need not fret as well. Diameter for these kinds of hair varies for every person, with no found common measure.
